Elizabeth Jane Flannery (52 Ancestors #10)

Elizabeth Jane Flannery is my third cousin two times removed on my maternal grandmothers side. She was born on September 6, 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts. She is the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Ennis) Flannery and the sister of Mary, Thomas, and John.

Elizabeth graduated from Newton High School and attended Northeastern University.

She was a bridal consultant and sketch artist from 1947-1950 for Bonwit Teller. In 1950, she moved to New York to become a buyer for DePinna Department Store. She then started her own public relations firm, Flannery Associates.

Elizabeth was a well known commentator for fashion shows in New York, Westchester County and the Hamptons. Herfondest account was McCall’s Patterns.

Elizabeth’s proudest achievement was spearheading Broadway’s opening night extravaganza for “Annie” in 1977180px-Andrea_McArdle_Reid_Shelton_Annie_1977

 

She retired to Cape Cod in 1983 and resided in Chatham.  Elizabeth died on April 25, 2002.
